On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Investigate and critique the historical evolution of human rights and international criminal law
2.
Reflect on the origins, dynamics, outcomes and ongoing implications of three atrocity crimes
3.
Critically analyse some of the political tensions between universal and national jurisdictions and the prosecution of atrocity crimes
4.
Communicate effectively in a variety of formats
5.
Articulate the roles and responsibilities of the international community as an actor in international relations and as a responder to atrocity crimes
